SWOOOOON.....I'm in love....

With OWEN!
How blummin brill is this new guy from Digistamp Boutique eh?
He's just perfect for those pre-teen/teen/young adults chaps in our lives . Heck he would even be good for hubby who spends far to much time in this position for a 47 year old...I could always add the grey hair...right ???? :P lol

Here I have coloured him with prismacolour pencils
and the papers are digital from just so scrappy too called Hey dude.
I made the sentiment myself and left a blank space so I could write the recipients name on to personalise it.
All the papers  were printed onto papermill shop linen card and the "kraft" buff is also from the

Tuesday

Hello my lovelies :)

Well it's been a long while since I posted hasn't it?

Things are just so hectic  trying to get in to a routine caring for Mum.  The little time I have had I have sat here and shuffled bits of paper round and gotten nowhere fast!! :( A lot of the time after the basic care my mum just needs company/chat as she is sooo bored and with her not being able to see well she is VERY limited in what she can do. So I have started taking a bit of crochet with me whilst I sit with her and chat. Here is what I've made the last few days...some little hats for the kiddies for winter :)

I do hope you are all keeping well and thanks ever so much for all your continued messages about my mum . Take care all and keep safe and warm in this awful weather we are having at the mo :(

Another little bobbi :)

Hi all, Hope you are all having a good week :) I am!.... I'll tell more after my card .

For this weeks DT card For Digistamp Boutique I've made another card using the adorable Bobbi ....gawd I love this lil Ted so so adorable! Sally-ann has just released some christmas Bobbis too :) :)

I coloured the oh so cute Bobbi with prismacolour pencils

On to my happy news. We are finally setting the wheels in motion foe mum to come home :) we had 2 choices she could go to the stroke rehab centre for 3/4 weeks or come home and receive up to 12 weeks physio at home. All to do with funding I suppose. She left it up to mum to make the decision and she chose home. So we are just getting all the equipment in place. Hospital bed , hoist etc we have had a to take a few doors off downstairs and  once everything is in place care wise she will be saying goodbye to the ward ....It's gonna be hard work and I will be helping care for her but I can't help feeling elated at this point. Mum is so happy and it will be soo nice not to have to trapse up that hospital everyday . So upto now I am :)

Thanks for stopping by today and for all your lovely messages about my mum, We are moving forward slowly and in the next few weeks will be deciding whether she is going to be going to a specialist rehab centre or whether she is going to be able to carry on the rehab from home. I am hoping for home but I suppose it is what ever is going to be best for her in the long term :) :)

Monday

Well what a month it has been!

..Hi all, It's been a long time since I had time to post on here and even longer since I have had time to make any cards :(

At the start of last month my mum suffered a stroke. Initially we didn't think it was going to be to bad but then a few hrs after she was admitted to hospital she suffered a big heart attack then she developed a pneumonia. It was touch and go there for a while and the doctors gave us the talk about not resuscitating etc . After 2 days she had made a massive improvement with regard to the heart attack/pneumonia and I think she surprised the doctors :) :). The stroke itself has affected her left side and although she is regaining small movements there hasn't been that much progress so far as she has had a couple of infections since being in there and also developed a blood clot on her lung so up until the last few days she hasn't been receiving much physio. At the moment as well as going in for normal visiting myself and my step dad are trying to go in for atleast one meal time a day each as lets just say the care isn't all that good and it is very worrying. I could go on all day about that so I best not start!

Anyhow I have had precious little time to do anything other than the usual work/chores/and visit mum. I mostly have to go on the bus and that is 2 buses both around 30 mins travel so I have been taking a bit of crochet with me. I decided to make something small as it would be easier to do on the bus so I made a start on this little guy.

I just completed him this evening and I am going to take him in to mum to keep her company.

I just need a name ..any suggestions??

The pattern is free from the lovely Emma HERE

I wish I could do a spot of cardmaking on the bus but can you imagine the looks I'd get carrying a huge guillotine on there lol

Thanks for listening to my waffle

Beautiful rose

Hi all,
I hope you are all keeping well. I thought summer had arrived there for a mo...oh well hopefully we will have some more good days before it's winter again..I hope lol

I'm stopping by today to show you are card I have made using some lovely cream card that's on special offer  over at Papermill Direct. It's 270 gsm and you can get a small a4 box right now for only £5 :) :)

The card is actually a much more dark buttery creamy colour than this. It's so dark here I had to take my picture in artificial light and it's bleached it out somewhat. Please pop over to the papermill direct blog HERE and see my teamies creations for a better representation of the colour. :)

The stamp is from Clearly Besotted  Happy Everything set. If you haven't tried this brand yet you'll be blown away by the quality of the products. I coloured the stamp with prisma pencils and simply scored a lattice background on my hougie board.

Shirt cards..

Hi all,
Today is my Papermill Direct Dt posting.

I thought I would show you a little tutorial. This is not my idea so I cannot take the credit . There are many versions out there on the internet. I do however hope you enjoy my tutorial and find it useful especially with fathers day coming up which these cards would be perfect for.

I will not use specific measurements for my tutorial as this card can be adapted to suit many different sizes

What you need:

A card blank.  I use papermill direct linen cardstock and score my own.
A sheet of patterned card/paper which is the same width but around a 3rd longer again than you card blank (see picture below)
A strip of the same patterned paper to make a cuff
And your embellishments. For my examples I have used a printed tie and badge
I have also used some printed buttons from the same digi kit as I printed my paper from
but you could easily cut a tie shape and maybe use really buttons or brads instead as I have in my other example. Or a nice piece of fabric or thick ribbon for the tie would be lovely.

You will also need a pair of scissors or craft knife
a ruler and score tool or scoreboard
corner rounder or coin
and adhesive of your choice

Firstly you need to score your piece of patterned card once along the same length as your base card and once half of that measurement (see below)

Now cut along the first scoreline  (see below) for my finished card which is 15cm square I cut around an inch inbut of course this will depend on your finished project.
I would suggest trying this part on a piece of copy paper to see how wide you like your collar.

Now fold the remaining scoreline back on itself

And fold this down to form the collar so the two points meet in the middle

To make the sleeve and cuff
Cut your long strip of card into 2 rectangles one slightly longer than the other and round the corners of the longest piece either with a corner rounder or you could use a coin to draw round and cut with scissors

This is what you should have now

Adhere all the piece into place using your chosen adhesive and adhere to the card blank

There are so many possibilities for this type of card.
Christmas ties, tiny gift card size ones, printing digi images on to the ties and colouring, make a pocket using the same technique as for the cuff etc etc

I have used Papermill Direct Linen cardstock to print all of my elements onto

Diorama /shadow box card

Hi all,
I'm here today to share my first DT creation for Papermill Direct.

I decided to do something a little different and make a shadow box/diorama card. These are so simple to make but so effective. I know we are all aware of postage cost and that's the great thing about these cards. They offer dimension but can be posted flat.

For my card I used:
2 pieces of  ivory linen card 14.5 cm x 21 cm
1 piece of  black card 14.5cm x 13 cm
Scoreboard or ruler and scoring tool
Die or something to draw around to cut an aperture
Stamps or digital images
Adhesive

The first step is to stamp or print your image /verse onto the centre of 1 of the pieces of Ivory Linen card
I also made a digital frame and printed the sentiment I will be using for the front of my card onto the second piece where the aperture will be cut in order to save card.

Now cut your aperture in the centre of the second piece of ivory Linen. Here I am using a nestability circle die but if you have a steady hand you could draw around a cup etc and cut by hand.
Then do the same with the black piece of card.

Now using either a score board or ruler and embossing tool score both pieces of ivory card at 2cm and 4cm as shown below

Crease the side tabs like this

Adhere the black piece of card into the centre back and adhere the side tabs so you end up with this.

Decorate as you wish!

There are so many possibilities with these cards. You could add acetate to the centre aperture  which you could make in any shape and add a spray of glitter or add patterned papers or decoupage your image to give a real 3d look.

The image and sentiment used for my project are available from The Digi Stamp Boutique HERE

What do you do

....when your not papercrafting?????

I started dabbling in a bit of crochet a year or so ago and I am sooooo falling in love with it. Wish I had someone who could show me IRL though. My confidence in my crochet skills is sadly lacking but I did try a baby blanket for a friend of my mums grandchild who is due in a few weeks.

I've never been one for just sitting so it's great to be able to sit in front of the telly but still be doing something. More sociable than being stuck upstairs in the craftroom too. I've recently joined a crochet group on FB and wow some of the creations blow your mind...maybe one day when I grow up..........

Do you do any other crafts?

A couple of very CAS easter creations

Hi all,
Sorry I've not been around much I have a silly stomach AGAIN!. Feel like I'm always moaning about one thing or another these days. I have been awful but feeling a bit brighter last night and needed to get a move on with easter things so decided to use some of the lovely new images from DIGI STAMP BOUTIQUE to make some very CAS cards

Did you know that The Digi stamp boutique are now releasing digital papers?
I love the ones I've used above which can be found in the BASICS SETS Sunny and glamorous

The images are from Easter Squares and Easter Bluebell and Boo which are both offers of the month :)

A nice long soak...

...Oh how I could do with one of those...

On to my card which I have made with the lovely Alyssa relaxing Digi from

I made a little milk carton using my scoreboard and my tutorial HERE
I coloured the image with Prisma colour pencils
Spy the "kraft " card? it's a new line in for papermill direct called buff. It is a little lighter than some buff card and it hasn't got lots of "bits" showing IYKWIM but as you can see from the pic it's still a nice "kraft" colour. you can always colour the edges up with a bit of distress ink if you want it a bit darker.,

The box looks a completely different colour in the picture but really it's the same. If I ever figure out how to work this camera it will be a miracle. Hubby just points and shoots it and takes a masterpiece. Me I take 24 photos and mange to get one that's just passable lol
