Hi everyone..happy Thursday.
Today I'm here to show you this little cutie which is one of a set of new releases from
The Digistamp Boutique called the prickles :)

Everything else is from my bits and pieces and left over boxes as this was going to be my entry into My teamie Lisa's waste not wednesday challenge but typically the sd card reader on my laptop decided it did not want to play yesterday ! Managed to get it working by shutting down and starting up about a million times :) I think it knew it was it's last chance before I thumped the blummin thing !!

Hi all, Thanks for stopping by today ..Wednesday already! can't quite believe how fast the weeks are going! It's absolutely freezing here again this morning so much so that the cat has gone in to hibernation I think! I bought her one of those beds that fits over the radiator last week and she hasn't been out of it since. Sometimes I give her a stroke as I walk past and she's that hot she should be cooking lol. No work today so I think I might have a nice hot bath after the housework is done and snuggle up on the sofa with a nice book this afternoon :)

Another cute bear...

I was asked to make a card for hubbies aunty & uncle to give to their daughter for her 4oth birthday next week. Luckily she loves bears so I get a little fix for my bear addiction at the same time.

The card is 8x8

The papers are digital from sweet shoppe designs called so sweet by zoe pearn

The bear of of course from LOTV and has been coloured with prismacolor pencils

Flowers and leaves from xcut punch, woodware punch and tim holtz tattered florals die

Pearls are ZVA creative from The Stamp Basket

Hattie Minus Buddy

Here's a very CAS and cute card I made using one of the Hattie images from The Digistamp Boutique

This image is really Hattie and Buddy but I enlarged it and then cropped it down to just Hattie's head.

One of the reasons I adore digis so much ..they are just so versatile!

She is coloured with Prismacolor pencils .

The paper is Dovecraft back to basics 2 pink

I added a flower cut from the same paper with an xcut punch onto her head band,

a little stamped sentiment and some pearls to finish.

While I'm here I thought I'd show you a piccie of our own Hattie (my great niece)

My niece told her she could choose her own outfit yesterday

here's the result lol

apparently the hat compliments the PJ's perfectly!

Hi all,

I'm popping by to show you this little card I made using one of the new magnolia

sweet crazy love collection available . My DT card for The Stamp Basket

If I'm honest my heart did sink a little when I knew that I was going to be getting magnolia stuff to work with but to I've surprised myself loads cos I've actually quite enjoyed making these :)

I've probably added more "stuff" to this card than I have on my last 10 cards put together lol

Here's a little cas card made with one of the new releases from The Digistamp Boutique

I simply printed it straight onto the card blank

coloured the hearts with prisma color pencils

made an aperture with a rectangle nesties and glued a few punched hearts into the aperture

I backed the inside in red card and added a few gems to finish

Here's a sweet 16 card and matching box I was asked to make by a friend to give her daughter

She left it a bit late to ask me and as I haven't been feeling very well I wanted something quick and simple but still something a bit special so I opted for the concertina card.

I used the graphics from this free download HERE

The fonts I used are bookworm and eightfifteen

A couple of sparkly butterflies made from an xcut punch and some punched flowers again xcut

a couple of little gems from The Stamp Basket and voila

Here's a matching set of 1st Birthday cards for twin boys

I used a clipart Fairy digistamp from Here and paper pieced the number 1

Papers are also clip art fairy

They are for one of my sisters friends to give

my brief was A5 clean simple and same but different

Not really been up to much else apart from making a few design team cards . My stomach has been niggling me again the last few days and today it has flared up bad. I'm sitting here doped up with a hot water bottle strapped to my tummy ...feeling rather sorry for myself :(

Hi peeps, hope you are all keeping well? can't believe it's Friday already....... Where does the time go eh? Before we now it it'll be blummin crimbo again... groan !! They say it's an age thing the older you get the faster time goes as it's all relative to how much time you've experienced already. Can't imagine what it's like to be 80 or 90 a year much seem like a day lol

Here's a super quick and simple card I made using a lovely freebie from this site HERE

I simply changed the colour in page plus printed a sentiment to match them matted it all up and added a bit of sparkle with a sakura stardust pen a faux pearl and voila. gonna be made in many different colours to pad my box out no doubt :)

You should deffo give the free site a visit. There are some fabulous things on there to be played with and I'm sure you'll be seeing many more on here soon. You know how I LOVE a freebie lol

The challenge was to focus on the sentiment

Unfortunately I was to late to enter the challenge as the cat was sick on the landing when I was half way through the card..Not good on a cream carpet!!! lol

Hi peeps hows you?

Thanks for all the lovely comments and get well wishes. My mum is doing fab thanks just waiting for her date for her bypass op now. I think she will be relieved to get it out of the way. She has many other problems and I can't believe how upbeat she is even though she can't hardly see and is in pain an awful lot of the time. But this seems to really getting to her and she is worrying about it a lot. Not sure why ,,maybe because we spent so much of our lives in the cardiac wards of various hospitals with my Dad. He had a heart transplant in 1989 but was very ill for almost 15 years before hand so we lived our lives around hospital for many years . I think it might be bringing it all back bless her! anyway enough dome and gloom and onto my card!

I am in need of replenishing my stocks and the boy cards are at an all time low so thought I would have a go with some of these Sammy Smith Images from The Digistamp Boutique

Looking Forward

Hi Folks long time no "see" .

Well what can I say 2011 Christmas has not been the best. I won't bore you with all the details but it consisted of lots of hospital visits for my mum who was back in again till yesterday. Hopefully this time she is staying home :) a short stay myself (only one night for my stomach again) and just generally loads of sickness and bugs..bleh bleh bleh!!

I'm feeling much better now and hopefully ready to start the new year in a better frame of mind and I'm hoping a more positive year health wise to. I am determined to lose a bit of weight and start to get back into fitness. I used to do quite a lot of circuits and swimming etc before my stomach started giving me so much trouble. Since giving it up the weight has crept on. I got a xbox kinect for Xmas so I've got the zumba disc so I'm gonna start off gentle and home and see how I get on with that then I don't feel the pressure of going to classes when I'm not feeling to well. Well that's the plan anyway...we'll see how it goes lol.

Anyhow that's enough waffle from me........I was feeling so much better this morning that I even managed to make a card

Last minute Lucy!!

Well I am still ill..grr why am I always ill for my birthday and the run up to Christmas???

I have made a million Christmas cards for other people to give and only a hand full for myself as usual. I have purchased my usual heart foundation ones ( I know the shame) but I love to make a few personalised ones especially for the kids So I thought I better drag myself of the sick bed and attempt to make a few for those special peeps :)

Obviously with me being poorly I wanted them to be quick and thats one of the reason I love DSB images so much. They are such lovely im ages and colour up a dream super quick.

So sorry ...

... Once again for being such a bad blogger. As I wrote in my last post I have been poorly with my stomach again. I did think I may end up in hospital again the pain was so bad at some points but I managed to brave it out :) Then my mum was taken in to hospital with dangerously low blood pressure. And they have struggled to get her diabetes under control.With all the other health problems she has it was a bit scary there at one point :( She is much better now though and hopefully she is coming out today or tomorrow.(fingers crossed) They have put her down for a heart bypass now. We are hoping it isn't this side of Christmas..Not sure we could cope with the stress!

I carried on wallpapering with a hot water bottle strapped to my tummy yesterday.!I'm such a trooper lol At first I just thought it was a bought of my usual stomach problems coming on but Today I have been sick all day.:( I am not a pretty site I can tell you! Hope it doesn't last long the house is upside down and I have my pre Christmas hair appointment on Friday. Can't miss that as she can't fit me in again before Christmas and I've left it a couple of extra weeks as it is. I'll look like something from the black lagoon by the time The big fella comes ..not good !

Well Christmas is rolling in fast. I still have a million orders to fulfill and as much as I love it sitting here colouring images is not getting me to the end of them any sooner. Then I remembered the forever friends cd.

My Memories Suite is an easy to use scrapbook software package that makes it easy to create beautiful scrapbook layouts. But you can also create beautiful slideshows ..you can even add sound! cards, web graphics, just about anything really.
Once installed the interface is quite intuitive, and if you do get stuck their FB page and website have video tutorials, PDF tuts and their Facebook group or forum can probably answer any questions you have - it's a very active group that frequently hosts challenges and giveaways.

The interface also comes preloaded with some templates, background papers, etc. to get you started, after you play with those a bit you might want to buy other sets and templates in the My Memory Suite shop . I'm surprised just how affordable these are for how much content you get within each one! WOW!There are whole sets, add ons, quickpage, word art, the list is endless. You can also import .png/.jpg graphics that you already have into the program quite easily. I downloaded quite a lot of free sets/quick pages from the site to get me started. Money gift wallets and the wallpaper saga continues

My sister asked me to make some little wallets to put the kids Christmas money in

I made these quick and simple ones complete with belly bands

using free papers from summertime designs

Added a load of glamour dust some ribbon and some computer generated wording cut out with nestabilities and voila ..sorted! I only wished the rest of the Christmas stuff I have left to do was so simple. gulp!

Well I went to take my wallpaper back..yes you guessed it even though they had assured me on the phone that had the 6 rolls they didn't have 6 rolls with the same batch number!

Homebase your customer service is pants!.

So my options are to travel about 30 miles to another store who have them, pay the delivery charge and order it from the website or they can order it in store but it may take 3 weeks to come?? As you can imagine I was not best impressed! I asked if they could just ring round and find one roll with the same batch number as the 5 I already have and have it sent to my local store or them pay the delivery charge to my home as a way of any apology for my time and trouble traipsing round when it was there fault in the first AND second place.. Honestly you would have thought I had asked for the life of the woman's first born or something. Oh no that's just to simple!!!. So I decided I would just take my custom else where out of principle. I've probably bitten my nose off to spite my face as I couldn't find anything I liked at much when I had a look yesterday :( I had set my heart on green but if I can't find anything that means more traipsing round the shops taking all the accessories back too. Not something I'm looking forward to at this time of year..grrr!!!

Right moan over on a positive note I did come home with a bag full of tree decs. Don't tell hubby though or I am for the chop! lol

Here's a cute little Xmas card I made just for the sale of it!

The stamp is a Humphrey corner one from Crafters companion. They had a super offer on to buy another stamp for 1p and this one was in the pack for free. Bargain!! 2 stamps for 1p lol

I coloured him with prismacolour pencils

The snowflake is a cuttlebug embossing folder

and the dot background was done the old fashioned way with a light box and stencil

Janet has some fabulous new lines coming into the store soon. Popover and have a nose !

Well I'm off to change some wallpaper today. I rang and reserved some from homebase. Picked it up from store got home and realised that the silly store person that picked it has given me 1 roll out of the 6 with a different batch number! The pattern on it is a completely different shade of green than the others. I rang up and surprise surprise they have no more in stock so I can either wait an age for them to get some more delivered or traipse across the other side of the city to the other store..grrr why is it these things always happen to me??? lol

O Christmas tree

Well it's Tuesday again (where does the time go) and that means only one thing.
My latest DT card for The Stamp Basket

I fell in love with this stamp set from wild rose studios as soon as I saw it. Great for those last minute xmas cards or batch making and so classy!

I decided to go a little less traditional with the colours and chose brown and ivory
I stamped the image and cut out by hand then simply added a few gems and some glamour dust before mounting on 3d foam for a little dimension.
I had stamped a few extra trees so I decided to make a simple matching tag :)

Natures Guide

Well I'm still not well and feeling like this isn't really helping me in the old crafty department. The old mojo has gone completely out of the window! I told myself I HAD to make something today so what could be better than some Clipart Fairy goodies to get the juices flowing. That's what I love about Wendys beautiful printables ...you can do as much or as little as you like and they always look brill at the end

The size of the card is A5 landscape but I chopped a chunk from the front off and made a panel on the right hand side.

I used some of the natures guide goodies which you can find HERE

The flowers are using the same papers from tim holtz tattered florals die

The butterfly is an xcut punch

I hand cut the leaves, added a few gems and a ribbon bow to finish and voila

I've not been feeling to well with my stomach again over the weekend. Infact I considered taking myself off to the hospital about 4am I think the pain and lack of sleep had taken it's toll by then but I managed to hang in there though and have drugged myself up. So it's a day on the sofa under the blanket watching a bit of telly and browsing on the laptop, hopefully dozing in between (please god)

Elegant Christmas..

Ruth over at a Passion for stamps has been busy with her pencil again and has drawn some beautiful Christmas images to add to her collection

For my card Today I have used the beautiful poinsettia

I simply resized and recoloured then printed them out twice . I then decoupaged them and added some glamour dust and gems from The Stamp Basket

The sentiment was also computer generated and coloured to match the image

The background embossing was created using my hougie board

I made my shapes a little differently but you get the general idea. This is my prototype for some I plan to make in green for my newly decorated living room which we should be started on next week yipeee. what do you think? I have to say it turned out much better than I expected and didn't take as long either. I only started it last night and just had to sew the outer cushion together this morning and voila.

Morning all, hope you have all had a good weekend. My weekend has been lovely . I made a special dinner for family yesterday for my Nans 92nd birthday. It was hard work but I thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my Nan which is great as she has had the flu over the last 2 weeks and we weren't sure whether she would be well enough to come. Craft Artist Platinum Review and Giveaway

The lovely people at Serif asked me if I would review their Craft Artist Platinum Edition as you know I am a big fan of Serif and use page plus regularly for printing backing papers, digis , card fronts etc so I couldn't wait to get my mitts on it and have a play.

To say I have been blown away by the content is an understatement! I comes with 4 additional discs packed full (see below) which can be used with any and all of the templates within the software such as scrapbook layout, invitation, favours, table decorations tags, labels to name but a few.

After a quick wander around the tutorials I set to work on a few quick pages

Absolutely fabulous as your photos just snap into place but it also gives you the option to move all the elements around to suit :)

Now scrapbooking is something I absolutely LOVE to do . But sadly I never seem to have the time so that's where these digital scrapbooks come into their own for me. I can even sit and create on my laptop in bed when I am poorly if I like. Then I have the option to either save them to my computer, print them off flat or even break the elements apart , print them off and them layer them to make a 3d page..how fab is that!

Last night I got the chance to have another little play and decided to make a card

This is what I created in a few simple clicks. I designed it on the screen and simply printed a few extra elements which I cut out and 3d'd then added a smattering of glamour dust to finish. I think something like this would be great to make in sets and give away as small gifts/stocking fillers.

I found the software simple to use and if you do get stuck on anything you can watch the tutorials or go onto Daisy Trail which is an online community for Craft Artist and Scrapbook Artist.

I've really enjoyed playing with it and I can see myself spending far to much time using it ! The possibilities are just endless and I cannot possibly begin to tell you just how many or I would be here all year.

My overall opinion is that it's a fab piece of kit and I will definitely be using it a lot!

two little dickie birds

...well three actually ..but it's late and I couldn't think of any more interesting titles lol

. I'm going to be decorating my living room again before Christmas (yes hubby I am!!) and you know how it is when you have to have things matching . Well I think I have purchased a whole new set of tree ornaments every year for about the last six years in every colour imaginable except obviously for the colour I'm going to be having in my new living room of course lol which is going to be green . I think if I dare come home with yet another new set this year I'll be heading for the divorce courts :P .So I've decided I'm going to go neutral and go all silver and white. I have quite a lot of silver already so just need to add a few white touches. I was browsing for ideas and came across quite a lot of home made decs so thought I would have a go

My first attempts and I only wish I could get the sparkle to show up on the camera. I have smothered them with glamour dust and they are much nicer IRL if I do say so myself!.

The template for the birdhouse is from HERE which I took into serif and resized and I just made the layered roofs with scalloped rectangle nesties

I hand cut the branches and doves and made some little hangers with seed beads

They only measure about 5cms high and were super fiddly to do but I really enjoyed myself making them.

Well normally I would hate folding shirts but I quite enjoyed these :p

I've been trying to make some quick cards to fill up my card boxes for sale .

and the song ....Nothings gonna stop us now. I think I was about 13/14 when it came out dancing round in front of the telly with me hair brush dreaming of being gorgeous lol Oh how I wish I could go back to that age sometimes!

I've been having another little play with the digi scrapbooking
Here
I have used a basic free download from serif called page plus to make these pages but I shall be doing a lot more of this and much more digi stuff in the near future as Serif have very kindly asked me to do a review of their craft artist platinum so look out for it in a few weeks as I will also be giving away a copy ........... I'm a lucky girl :) :) so excited :)

Here's a clean and simple card I made using one of the new releases from Digistamp Boutique

The image is part of this offer of the month set

I coloured it with prisma pencils and decoupaged it up a tad

The dotty background is hand embossed from a stencil

snowflake panels are using a cuttlebug folder

Sentiment is computer generated (little days font)

snowflake is an xcut punch

I added a ton of glamour dust to finish

Here's a cute little treat box to fill with some Halloween sweeties for the little monsters :)

I made the milk carton on my hougie board following my tut here

The main image is frosty longstockings

The backing paper and snowflakes are from snowset scraps 1

I added my own sentiment and loads of glamour dust and a little bobble on his hat to finish

Rose Garden

Here's a easel card I've made for my Nans Birthday using this beautiful shaper set called Rose Garden from the Clipart fairy

She's going to be 92 this year!

I added my own sentiment

then used the Rose alpha set printed off the Nan them cut out and raised onto the shaper

I made some simple rolled roses using the matching background paper also in the set

I few pearls and some glamour dust to finish

When is a box not a box??

....When it's a book a easel!

I made this using the freebie book a easel over on the clipart fairys blog

I simply made a rectangular box and then stuck two pages of the book a easel to it . One on the top and one on the bottom. As you can see the result is a lovely shaped box :)

I made the flower from a few hand cut petal shapes then added some pearls and loads of glamour dust to finish.

Well the new images worked :) Mr mojo has returned hopefully he'll be staying for a little while :)

This lil pop is from one of the offers of the month over at The Digistamp Boutique

I printed her 3 times to make it look as if she is floating upwards than coloured her with prismacolor pencils

I then added a cloudy background using a hand cut stencil and chalk ..for the life of me though I cannot get it to show up well on the picture! grr

sentiment was made on the computer using bookworm font

If you happen to come across it anywhere. Give it a good old telling off and tell it to get home quick sharp!

I have sat looking at images and paper for a few days. Spend another few days shuffling said paper and image around and what have I accomplished? nothing nadda zilch nowt!

I thought I would show you a couple of things I've attempted to make out of fimo though

I'm really enjoying have a play with this although it can be rather frustrating as whats in my head is never the same as my model lol oh well I will keep practising.

Oh and I sat and made these

the other night. Trying to use up my scrap card. That's one of the problems when you make you own card blanks..what to do with all those bits left over?

Haven't a clue really what I'm going to do with them..maybe keep making them until I have enough for a wreath.

Shorty bear

Yep back to the bears! lol

And isn't he just the cutest?

He's just one from a set of six bears from this set

Shorty bears oval frame

As always i coloured the image with prisma pencils then I cut away the inner part of the frame and matted the panel onto another card blank so he looks like he's peeking out of it

sentiment was computer generated

I did a tiny torn rolled rose and a pearl to finish
(sorry about the wonky pic :) )

It's that cold .....

..it feels like xmas here the last couple of days. I made stew yesterday and even had to put me cardie on!

Anyhow cos it's not so warm it didn't feel so bad making the odd chrimbo card.

I think these will be my batch xmas card for this year. Super simple to make and very speedy too :)

The backing paper is a download from pink petticoat printed onto ivory linen cardstock

the greeting was done on the computer then cut out with nesties

I added some lovely black glitter to the snowflakes but it didn't show up well on the photo :(

Well after I made my card the other day I just fell in love with this colourway. So soft and pretty :)

So here's a little card I made using one of the old Gorjuss girl images that's been in my stamped images box for well......... an age lol. It's quite sad really isn't it? We buy all this stuff cos it's the latest must have use it once and then they get shoved out of site mostly never to see the light of day again...poor things!!! lol

Again it's not my usual oh so clean and simple but a change is as good as a rest isn't it?

The image has been coloured with prisma pencils

The papers and butterflies are from this sheer flower butterfly blue set over at the Clipart Fairies store

All softened with antique linen distress ink

Hello dear bloggy buds I do hope you are all having a nice weekend.

I had a little play day yesterday and managed a few cards and a couple more fimo teds

Here's the first card I made

Using this lovely Sheer flowers butterfly blue set from the clipart fairy

Printed onto white linen card and softened with antique linen distress ink and a bit of stitching

Of course I just had to add a bit of the old glamour dust and a few gems :)

I think the heat has melted my card making mojo :( It's just to hot to sit in my little room so I picked up my hook and sat outside to make another pair of these.

I followed the basic pattern here but used two strands of yarn on a slightly smaller hook to make the a bit more chunky/warm.

Here's what they look like on, please excuse the corned beef/pale pegs lol

I so need some sun!

Last time I made them I found them a bit slippy on my wooden/tiles floors . Then I had a light bulb moment and had the idea to used some of that 3d paint on the bottom to make some sticky pads

Not the neatest but works a treat :)

Here's a quick card I made using a very old stamp

Design stamped onto white linen card using versafine ink

The thanks and border are computer generated and hand cut

Bit of organza ribbon and a trio of gems to finish

The decorating is done..Hooray!!well on that room anyways, it's never ending really isn't it? By the time you've gone through the whole house it's time to start over in the first room again. I've been trying to convince hubby that the living room needs doing but he's not keen . It doesn't really but I've hated the wallpaper on the feature wall since about a week after I put it up ...I might have to damage it ..by accident of course : p lol

.....but different bears though :p Maybe I should change my blog name to A load of old bears??? eh eh ?
I decided to have another go at Fimo. The last attempt about 2 years ago latest for all of an hour before I lobbed all the clay back in the box and screamed DISASTER DARLING!!!

My first attempt this time was a little better

Although as you can see I got the proportions a little wrong lol

By that time a was getting used to it and made this little beaut

Complete with jewels lol

Not very often I say this cos I generally find it hard to blow my own trumpet...but I am well proud of this second one ..I think I did good especially for a second attempt, no books etc.what do you reckon??

I can't wait to have another play, got to go and get some more fimo though ( I can see hubbies eyes rolling now lol)

A card I did not enjoy making

As some of you will know I am a regular on the Docrafts forum and on Wednesday we had the devastating news that one of our beloved members LizG had suddenly passed away. So very very sad :(

Usually I don't make sympathy cards simply because I just don't enjoy making them so I usually buy them. But somehow that just didn't seem right
